Title: The impact of surgical extraction of third molars in periodontal status of second molars (M2). Department: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, General Hospital “Evaggelismos”, Athens, Greece. Period: 11/2016–today. Reseachers: Trikka D., Papadiochos I., Petsinis V., Papadogeorgakis N. Approval of research protocol: Scientific comminute of General Hospital “Evaggelismos”, Athens. Protocol Number: 10330. Aim: The clinical record of periodontal depth, attachment loss, bleeding index, attached gingivae width, and plaque index for M2 at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after the third molar extraction  and statistical investigation of findings. Stage of study: Thirty  seven patients have initially participated but two withdrew. The aforementioned periodontal indices have been already recorded for a total of 107 M2 (35 in maxilla and 107 in mandible) with mean follow-up time of 5,7 months.
